Submission Rules
The Abstract submission deadline is until May 30 2025.
The confirmation of abstract submission, and further confirmation of acceptance will be done exclusively by e-mail.
Abstracts of clinical cases / free papers / e-Posters – These abstracts will be included in the Congress abstract booklet. The abstract submission should follow the double-blind rule, which means that the title and the abstract text cannot contain mentions to names of authors or institutions where the abstract was made. Abstracts which fail to comply with these rules will not be accepted. The abstract should not contain charts, tables or figures.
The results of a clinical or experimental investigation should be presented according to the following scheme:
A. Introduction - where the established facts about the subject and the objective of the work are mentioned;
B. Material and Methods - of the clinical or experimental study describing the study population;
C. Results – results found without comment or discussion;
D. Discussion - about the outcome or objective of the work, the methodology used and the position of the information collected in relation to the articles published on that same subject;
E. Conclusion - deductions and clinical incidence of cure (experimental research); current importance and prospects of future development.
The maximum number of words is: 500 words.
Presentation Guidelines:
Clinical cases – Maximum presentation time: 3 minutes.
Free Papers - Maximum presentation time: 5 minutes.
Concerning the presentation of clinical cases and free papers during the Congress, the only support available is PowerPoint ® for Windows or for Mac. Authors should bring a pen drive with the presentation, and upload it at the slide desk. It is not possible to connect personal laptops in the room. All the computer equipment to support the presentation must be delivered to the Slide Desk of the Congress, the day before or in the morning (if the presentation is in the afternoon).
There will be prizes for the best free papers.
e-Posters - The presentation of the posters will have the electronic form - e-Poster. There will be prizes for the best e-Posters.
IMPORTANT NOTICE - The submission of abstracts for e-posters and free papers, entails formal acceptance by the authors of the divulging of both of the abstract and the presentation, within the restricted scope of the activities of the Portuguese Society of Orthopaedics and Traumatology.
